How do I book a private driver in Cape Town with Andre?
Choose your tour in this app, add your dates and details, and you’ll see your total. Tap Book & pay to pay securely by card with Yoco, or send your details to us on WhatsApp if you’d rather chat first. We then confirm your date and plan your day with you.
How much does a private driver cost?
Prices are for up to 4 people: airport transfer R1,000; Cape Point & Peninsula day R5,000; City & Table Mountain day R5,000; Winelands day R5,500; Hermanus day R6,500. Add R500 per extra person, up to 8. The Peninsula + City day is R5,000, and the Peninsula + Constantia day is R5,000. Extra standby time is R600 an hour, and a trailer is R500. A multi-day package of 5 days or more is both airport transfers plus each day at that tour’s price. The Garden Route is from R7,500, with your final quote on WhatsApp. Cruise shore days, special requests (cost + admin fee) and groups of 9 or more are quoted on WhatsApp.
What’s included in a private tour?
Your own driver-guide and vehicle for your group only, door-to-door pickup and drop-off, and fuel. Your driver is with you on standby for up to 9 hours (10 hours for a same-day Hermanus trip). Not included: entrance fees, meals and drinks.
Do we pay for 9 hours of driving?
No. The hours are standby time: your driver is with you for up to 9 hours (10 for Hermanus same-day). Stay longer or head back early, the flexibility is yours.
Can we add extra time?
Yes. Tick “Add extra standby time” when you book: R600 an hour, up to 12 hours a day in total.
How do I pay, and is there a deposit?
You pay securely by card with Yoco, right in the app. Normally you pay a 50% deposit when you book, and the balance is due 2 days before your trip; the app shows the exact amounts and the date. Trips less than 5 days away are paid in full when you book, or on the day.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel 30 days or more before your trip: full refund, less a 5% admin fee. Cancel less than 30 days before: no refund. We’ll gladly rebook or reschedule your trip, subject to availability, or give you a voucher valid for 1 year. On the day, activities that depend on partners or the weather can be swapped within the day’s plan where possible.
How many people can you take?
Up to 8 guests in the Hyundai H1. Prices include up to 4 people; each extra person is R500. For 9 or more we use a bigger vehicle (a Toyota Quantum or similar), quoted on WhatsApp.
How much luggage fits? Do I need a trailer?
Tell us how many large bags you have when you book. More than 6 large bags needs a trailer (R500), and the app adds it for you.
Do you have child seats?
Please ask us on WhatsApp when you book, and tell us your children’s ages.
Will my driver meet me at Cape Town airport?
Yes. Your flight is tracked, your driver meets you in arrivals and up to 2 hours of waiting on arrival is included, so a delayed flight is not a problem.
How long is a day tour?
Your driver is with you on standby for up to 9 hours on a full-day tour such as Cape Point and the Peninsula, the Winelands or the city, collected from and returned to your accommodation. A same-day Hermanus trip is up to 10 hours. On a multi-day package, each day follows that tour’s hours. You can add extra standby time at R600 an hour, up to 12 hours in a day.
Can I design my own itinerary?
Yes. Every day is built around you. Each tour has a suggested route with our favourite stops, and you can mix them or change plans on the day.
Is the sample itinerary fixed?
No. This is just a sample. We can add, remove or build an itinerary around your needs, requirements and wishes for your time in Cape Town. Use the sample as a starting point in the multi-day package, change any day, or tell us on WhatsApp what you’d like and we’ll plan it with you.
Do you do multi-day trips, like the Garden Route or Hermanus?
Yes. Our multi-day package is for 5 days or more: both airport transfers are included, and you choose what each day holds (the Peninsula, the City, the Winelands, Hermanus or a safari day), each at that tour’s price, with the total shown line by line before you pay. The Garden Route is a separate trip of 3 to 15 days, quoted on WhatsApp. Either way you have the same driver-guide and one point of contact for the whole trip.
Which areas do you cover?
Cape Town and the Cape Peninsula, Constantia, the Winelands (Stellenbosch, Franschhoek and Paarl), Hermanus and the coast road via Betty’s Bay, and the Garden Route on multi-day trips, plus transfers to and from Cape Town International Airport.
Is Cape Town safe for tourists?
A private driver makes it much simpler: door-to-door pickups, no navigating unfamiliar roads, and a local who knows which areas and times to avoid.
Andre is booked on our dates. Can you still help?
Often, yes. We are a family-owned business with a team of professional driver-guides, so another driver-guide from the team can drive you. Just ask when you send your dates.
Do you have German-speaking guides, or other languages?
Our driver-guides speak English, and a German-speaking driver-guide is available on request. You can ask for another language, such as French or Mandarin, in the booking form; we’ll do our best to match.
Are your drivers and guides registered?
Your driver-guide holds a PrDP (professional driving permit), and the vehicle is licensed with third-party insurance. If you need to see a specific document, such as a tourist guide registration, ask us on WhatsApp before you book.
